College Basketball: Seven Games, Three Broadcast Nationally at Stan Sheriff Center in November

If you love college basketball, it’s going to be in heaven this month!  It’s the 5th Annual State Farm Armed Forces Classic on ESPN and the Rainbow Classic with the final game on ESPN2!  You can catch Arizona, Michigan State, Kansas, Indiana, Hawaii, SIU Edwardsville, Texas State and Florida Atlantic all in one weekend!  Thatʻs a lot of basketball in Honolulu!

It all starts with the 5th Annual State Farm Armed Forces Classic; it’s a double header that will be broadcast on ESPN Television live.  The Armed Forces Classic is being held in Honolulu on Veterans Day, November 11, 2016; just under a month from the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor:  It will pit Arizona vs. Michigan State at 2:00pm HST (7pm EST) and Kansas vs. Indiana at 4:30pm HST (9:30pm EST).

The games are part of ESPN’s America’s Hereos:  A Salute To Our Veterans with past games played in Germany, South Korea, Puerto Rico and Okinawa.  Lower bowl seats in the Stan Sheriff Center are reserved for military personnel. The Outrigger Rainbow Classic gets under way with the tournament beginning on Veterans Day.  First game will be Texas State vs. Florida Atlantic to take place at 5:00pm HST at Iolani School.  The second game will feature host University of Hawaii taking on Southern Illinois Edwardsville in the 9:00pm game at the Stan Sheriff Center. The tournament will continue Sunday with Florida Atlantic vs. Southern Illinois Edwardsville at 2:30pm, Stan Sheriff Center and Hawaii vs. Texas State at 5:00pm HST. Monday will feature Southern Illinois Edwardsville vs. Texas State at 6:00pm. Host Hawaii vs. Florida Atlantic at 11:15pm HST as part of ESPN’s Ninth Annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon.  This game will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN2.

Billy V will be working as Game Day Activities Coordinator for both games of the Armed Forces Classic and during the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic for ESPN Television.  Billy V is also the Game Day Activities Coordinator with University of Hawaii Athletics.
