DUVA talks about a "Rendezvous" – and being on stage at the Aloha to Aloha Stadium Concert! In this interview, DUVA discusses her new song "Rendezvous," inspired by a fleeting moment of connection with a stranger and built around the idea of fantasy and possibility. She shares how the song’s groove draws from classic R&B influences and her own island reggae roots. DUVA opens up about her evolving journey as a producer, collaborating with others to enhance her music while learning the technical aspects of engineering and mixing.
She reflects on the challenges and rewards of the creative process, emphasizing growth, resilience, and the endless potential of music. DUVA also highlights the support and opportunities provided by the Henry Kapono Foundation, describing their genuine care for artists and the personal growth she’s experienced through their programs.
The conversation shifts to her recent live performance at the Aloha to Aloha concert, where sharing the stage with admired artists was both empowering and surreal—a full-circle moment in her career. DUVA expresses gratitude for these experiences and excitement for future projects, hinting at more music releases in the coming year.
